"PJ" was born and raised in the mountains and has been a avid trout and high mountain stream fisher for as long as he can remember. A retired carpenter by trade, an educational background in the fine arts, and a lifelong love of fishing made building bamboo fly rods a perfect hobby turn business for PJ. Always considering his rods "functional art", PJ takes great care, consideration, and pride in every step of his bamboo fly rod and custom landing net builds. PJ has been pushing the creative envelop in the custom details of his rods and fishing nets since pursuing rod and net building and continues develop new innovations and unique finishes to his rods and landing nets. He is constantly looking for the challenge of implementing new finishing touches to his rod grips and net handles. He welcomes the opportunity to create each customer's unique vision for their custom, heirloom quality, bamboo fly rod or landing net.

Living in Pagosa Springs, Colorado for over thirty years, PJ loves sharing his passion for bamboo fly fishing in Southwest Colorado. As an extension of this passion PJ loves teaching bamboo fly rod building classes. Allowing craftsmen and anglers from around the world to experience the fly fishing and learn the dying trade of bamboo fly rod building this the Colorado town he is proud to call home.
