Our custom bamboo fly rods include the following:
- Every rod is made from a single, hand-picked culm of top-quality genuine Tonkin bamboo in a caramel finish.
- One butt and two tip sections in a 3 wt, 4 wt, 5 wt, or 6 wt rod from the same bamboo culm.
- Every rod is hand split, planed, and wrapped by our talented rodsmith.
- Novice, Revered, and Premium Collection Rods will come standard with premium Flor Grade cork grips (grip style to be discussed with your rodsmith).
- Unless otherwise specified, nickel silver reel seats, snake guides, and ferrules will be used.
- Every client will have the ability to choose their own agate stone stripping guide.
- Every client will have the ability to choose their own super fine silk wrap color.
- Rosewood spacers in a down locking, nickel silver reel seat.
- A Custom Sewn Hemp Rod Sock for your custom rod.
- An aluminum rod tube with a personalized rod information sticker, including the serial number and pertinent rod information.
Certificate of Ownership and Authenticity
The rodsmith will discuss all aspects of your rod before the build begins. Once all customizations and rod details have been discussed, PJs will update you on the time frame for your build. Use discount code DEPOSIT at checkout to place your order with a 50% deposit. The remaining balance will be due upon completion of your rod.

PJ's Fine Bamboo custom split cane fly rods are hand planed, wrapped, and dipped with the highest quality products available on the market. Using handpicked grade A Tonkin bamboo culms that acclimate for no less than six months prior to use, 100% natural silk threads (never synthetic) to wrap each piece of top quality nickel silver hardware, all dipped in precision technology dipping system to minimize runs, bubbles, and inconsistencies in the finish. After adequate drying time, our custom rods are sent to their new homes in an organic hemp rod sock and moss green powder coated rod tube with all of the custom rod information displayed on the PJ's logo information sticker. RETURN AND REFUND POLICY
From the moment you place your order at PJ's Custom Bamboo Rods you will be working directly with your rodsmith to assure that your rod is everything you have ever dreamed of. If you are not satisfied for any reason, please contact us directly so we can do our best to correct the problem. All custom rods come with a one-year unconditional warranty and a three year manufacturing defect warranty. Deposits are non-refundable once the rod build has begun. Final payment is due upon completion and approval of the rod, prior to shipment of the rod.
